JCT Ground Air India in ONGC I League encounter

JCT slammed two goals to beat Air India in the 16th round match of ONGC I League played at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana this afternoon. After a barren first half, JCT's Brazilian striker Eduardo Da Silva struck the first goal in the 55th minute by a long ranger free kick. JCT’s defender Daljit Singh scored the second goal in the 67th minutes of the game by a strong left footer from close to the halfway line. Air India, who were dominant in the first half, squandered many chances to score. JCT’s Goalkeeper Karanjit Singh made some brilliant saves in the first as well as second half. JCT too missed two more chances with free kicks in the 16th and 42nd minute not converted. JCT captain Julius Akpele was adjudged as man of the match. With this win, JCT secured three more points to take its tally to 29 points from 16 outings, with eight wins, five draws and three losses. JCT next take on Mohun Bagan on February 16 at home.
