JCT Coach & 5 players leave for training at
Wolverhampton

In the month of May 2008, JCT announced a 'community led partnership' with Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club (Wolves FC) U.K. (which is an English Premier League side). At the time of this announcement, a delegation of high-level representatives of each side met at JCT Sports Complex at Hoshiarpur (Punjab-India).
In the month of January, 2009, a high-level delegation led by Mr.Samir Thapar, President of JCT FC, went to Wolverhampton (UK) where they were received by Mr.Jez Moxey (CEO, Wolves FC) and other distinguished representatives of the Wolves FC, for the formal meetings to plan further strategy how to develop this project. Mr.Samir Thapar and other representatives of JCT FC also witnessed an entertaining league match between Wolves FC and Watford FC at Molineaux Stadium (home stadium of Wolves FC), Wolverhampton (UK).
Now, as per agreed plan between two clubs, JCT's Head Coach Parminder Singh alongwith 5 young players left India on Sunday to start a rigorous training programme at the Wolves Academy from today onwards. During the course of the above training, the Coaches of both sides will be sharing knowledge and coaching skills with each other. The other aspects of this programme are to gain modern training skills which include: Training-Technical / Tactical and Sports Science Review from experts of an English side. The players, who have been selected to get this special training, are mentioned below and these players are playing I-League & other major tournaments in India, so it would be quite useful for them to execute this knowledge and skill in the forthcoming Indian competitions. JCT players are: Pawan Kumar (goalkeeper) Amarwant Singh (defender), Amandeep Singh Bains (midfielder), Balwant Singh and Parveen Kumar (strikers).
Samir Thapar, President of JCT FC, said: "We have entered into a 'community led partnership' with Wolves FC which is based on our discussions for establishing solid principles for long term relationship between our two clubs. Sharing of knowledge and coaching skills is the strength of this partnership and has no commercial objective. The visit of our five young players and Head Coach to Wolverhampton for training at Wolves Academy is an important part of our partnership with Wolves FC. I would like to acknowledge the efforts made by Jez Moxey, Pat McFadden MP and Jas Bains for making this partnership a reality."
Jez Moxey, Chief Executive, has said of the relationship: "We are very proud of our community partnership with JCT FC. Many English Football Clubs have approached India with commercial or player recruitment aims as their short-term priorities".
“Our main aim has always been to build a long-term relationship based, first and foremost, around the community. A large portion of our local community is from an Indian Punjabi background and we already have, in Punjabi Wolves, a vibrant and dynamic supporter’s club who are great ambassadors for Wolverhampton Wanderers and the city. The relationship with JCT is enabling the Club to build on these links ever further.”
Jas Bains, of Punjabi Wolves and a key intermediary between the two Clubs, said: "Football's popularity in India is often underestimated. The Punjab region is a major supplier to the national team and JCT FC is one of Indian domestic football's 'giants". This is an organic relationship, a natural fit between both parties, brought together by the city's India diaspora where the objective is sporting rather than commercially driven."
